The problem with large prints is that framing them is expensive, but without framing they are very difficult to manage; they tend to curl and get covered with fingerprints when you try to straighten them. From my perspective, they are also a problem for shipping, whether framed or not.
Sectional prints solve this problem by breaking the image into 20 x 20cm sections, printing them on heavy, washable, synthetic paper, and connecting the sections with plastic “snaps”. The assembled print is easily hung on a wall, without framing. And the whole kit ships in a small, flat box. The look is modern minimalist and goes perfectly with a similar decor, but works well in most situations.
Sectional prints can be made very large, in increments of 20cm (about 8 inches) in each dimension. The smallest standard size is 80 x 60cm. Theoretically, there is no upper limit, but for most of my images the optimal size is no more than 160 x 120cm. However, some images will support a larger size, so if you are interested in that, please contact me.
Pricing for sectional prints is quoted case-by-case, due to variations in production and shipping costs. The table below gives some approximate pricing for single-image orders. Significant discounts are available for multiple-image orders.
80 x 60 $90
120 x 80 $140
160 x 120 $210
